סטודנטיות וסטודנטים יקרים,

אנו מקווים שכולכם בריאים ושהצלחתם ליהנות מהחג חרף המתחים והמורכבויות הרבות שמלווים אותנו מראשיתה של המערכה הנוכחית. הימים האחרונים חוללו טלטלה בקרב כל אחת ואחד מאיתנו, ערבים ויהודים, דתיים וחילוניים. כולנו מתמודדים עם איום בטחוני קשה מנשוא וגם עם הסלמה פנימית מדאיגה ומסוכנת. כולנו מחויבים לתרום את חלקנו במאמץ הלאומי לבלימת הרוחות הרעות.

בימים שבהם מפלס המתח והחרדות מוסיף להיות גבוה והיכולת להתמקד במשימות השוטפות הופכת מאתגרת במיוחד, אנו מבקשים לנצל את ההזדמנות כדי לחזק את ידיכם וכדי לבקש מכם מספר דברים באופן אישי:

קודם כל, המשיכו לשמור על עצמכם, על משפחותיכם ועל הקשר הקרוב עם חבריכם ללימודים. היצמדו להוראות פיקוד העורף ובמידה ואתם או מי מסביבתכם זקוקים לסיוע פנו לראשי המחלקות או לדיקנית הסטודנטים. אנו מבטיחים שנהיה קשובים ונפעל במלוא הנכונות כדי לתת מענה לכל פניה.

שנית, עשו כל הניתן כדי למנוע מתבערת השנאה להתפשט. בר אילן התגאתה תמיד בהיותה בית לכל גווני החברה הישראלית, בית שיודע להכיל שלל דעות, קולות ועמדות. אפשר כמובן להתווכח, ניתן למחות על המצב. אבל אנחנו מחויבים להותיר את גילויי האלימות מחוץ לשערי הקמפוס ולשמור על סביבת לימודים בטוחה לכל אחת ואחד מאנשי הקהילה שלנו. זוהי המחויבות העליונה של הנהלת בר אילן ושלנו באופן אישי.

בצאת חג שבועות, למרות המצב הסבוך, אנו רשאים לזכור גם את הטוב שזרענו וקצרנו בשנה האחרונה ולהתגאות ביכולתנו לצלוח את אתגרי הקורונה ואת השינוי המהותי שהיא חוללה בכל נתיבי חיינו. כעת ניצבת לפתחנו מגיפה מסוג אחר, מגיפה שגם אותה אנחנו מחויבים להדביר מתוכנו בנחישות. זה יקרה רק בעשייה משותפת, באמצעות שילוב של סובלנות, סולידריות וכבוד הדדי, ככתוב במשנה: "תלמידי חכמים מרבים שלום בעולם". אנו, אנשי קהילת אוניברסיטת בר-אילן, האמונים על פיתוח החכמה, רכישתה והפצתה, מצווים לשלב ידיים במאמץ להרבות שלום בינינו תחילה.

מחזקים את ידיכם ונושאים תפילה להשבתם במהרה של השקט והביטחון לאזורנו.

طالبات وطلاب أعزاء،

نأمل بأ نكم جمیعا بأمان وبأنكم قد احتفلتم بالأعیاد بالرغم من الضغوط والمناسبات المعقدة الكثیرة التي رافقتنا منذ بدایة الحملة الحالیة. أحدثت الأیام الأ خیرة ّھزة قویة في داخل كل واحد منا، عربا ویھودا، متدینین وعلمانیین. نواجھ الان تھدیدا أمنیا صعبا جدا وكذلك تصعیدا داخلیا مقلقا وخطرا. وكلنا ملزمون بالمساھمة بدورنا في الجھ ود من أجل التصدي لتلك الأرواح الشریرة.

في ھذه الأیام حیث مستوى الضغط والخوف عالیا والقدرة على التركیز في المھام الروتینیة صعب ة، نرید أن ّ نستغل ھذه الفرصة لكي نشد على أیادیكم ونطلب منكم بشكل شخصي الأمور الاتیة:

ّة مع أصدقا ئكم ل لدراسة. ّ تصرفوا بحسب تعلیمات أولا، احفظوا على أنفسكم، وعلى عائلاتكم وعلاقاتكم الودی قیادة الجبھة الداخلیة وإذا كن تم أنتم أو من یحیط بكم بحاجة للمساعدة توجھوا الى رؤساء الأقسام او لعمیدة الطلبة. نحن نعدكم ان تكون اذاننا صاغیة وأن نعمل بكل الصدق للاستجابة لكل طلب.

ثانیا، افعلوا كل ما بوسعكم لكي تمنعوا نار الكراھیة من الانتشار. افتخرت جامعة بار ایلان دائما بانھا بیت دفئ للآراء المختلفة في المجتمع الإسرائیلي، بیت یستطیع احتواء جمیع الآراء والاصوات والمواق ف. من الطبیعي أن نتناقش وان نحتج على الوضع، ولكن كلنا ملزمون بترك العنف خارج أبواب الحرم الجامعي لكي نحافظ على بیئة تعلیمیة امنة لكل واحدة وواحد منا. ھذا ھو الالتزام الأعلى لأداره جامعة با ر ایلان ولنا جمیعا بشكل شخصي.

في الوقت الحالي نرید أن نعلمكم بأنھ وبحسب ال جدول الزمني الأكادیمي، لا نزاول التعلیم غدا الثلاثاء ، الثامن عشر من أیار. سوف نزاول التعلیم حتى نھایة الاسبوع الحالي من خلال التعلم عن بعد. طبعا سوف نواكب التطورات المختلفة ونعلمكم في أسرع وقت ممكن بأي قرار نتخذه.

مع انتھاء العید، وبالرغم من الوضع ّ المركب، یجب أن نتذكر الأشیاء الجیدة التي زرعناھا وحصدناھا في السنة الأخیرة وأن نفتخر بقدرتنا على التغلب على تحدیات جائحة الكورونا وعلى التغییر الجوھري الذي أحدثتھ في كل جوانب حیاتنا. الیوم نواجھ جائحة من نوع اخر، جائحة یجب أن نتغلب علیھا أیضا وأن نزیلھا من داخلنا بكل اصرار. سوف نحقق ذلك من خلال العمل المشترك، من خلال التسامح، التضامن والاحترام المتبادل، كما ھو مكتوب في المشناة: "تلامیذ الحكماء یكثرون السلام في العالم". نحن، أبناء مجتمع جامعة بار ایلان، الموكل لنا تطویر الحكمة واكتسابھا ونشرھا ، مأمورون بالتعاون معا في العمل من أجل السلام بیننا أولا.

نشد على أیادیكم ونصلي من أجل عودة الھدوء والأمان الى منطقتنا في أسرع وقت.

Dear Students,

We hope you are doing well and were able to enjoy the holiday, despite the tensions and worries that mark our current reality. The last few days have been distressing for all of us, Jews and Arabs, religious and secular Israelis. We are all coping with a complex security threat from without and violence from within. And we must all contribute to the national effort to curb this dangerous escalation.

During these stressful, anxious times, we know that focusing on day-to-day tasks is especially challenging. We want to take this opportunity, then, to let you know that our first concern is for your safety and that of your families and fellow classmates. We ask that you please take care to follow the instructions of the Home Front Command, and that if you or anyone close to you needs help, you contact the head of your department or the dean of students immediately. We promise to respond to every request promptly, and with great sensitivity.

We also ask that you do everything in your power to prevent the fires of hatred from spreading. Bar Ilan has always prided itself on being a home for every sector of Israeli society, and a place where a range of voices, opinions, and positions can exist side by side. It is entirely legitimate to disagree with one another, just as protesting the situation is well within our rights. But manifestations of or calls for violence have no place in the University. It is incumbent on all of us to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for every member of our community. This is the top priority of Bar-Ilan’s management, and it must be your own personal mission, as well.

Meanwhile, we wish to remind you that in keeping with our academic calendar, there will be no classes tomorrow, Tuesday, May 18th (isru chag). Studies will resume on Wednesday in a distance-learning format. We are closely following developments and will be in touch with updates as soon as possible.

Finally, as befitting motzei Shavuot, the festival of the grain harvest, we must try to remember that despite the complex situation we face, we indeed reap the good that we sow. Thus did we overcome the past year’s coronavirus pandemic and the profound changes it wrought in our lives. And so, too, can we overcome this new pandemic that threatens to overtake our society. We all must do our utmost to stamp it out. And we will only succeed by working together, and through a commitment to tolerance, mutual respect, and solidarity. As it is written in the Mishna, “Wise students spread peace in the world.” All of us at Bar-Ilan are scholars entrusted with acquiring, producing, and spreading wisdom in the world. We must now join hands in multiplying peace in our own world, first.
